‘FLOURISH' ceiling sculpture
'FLOURISH', a monumental semi-abstract suspended floral composition in bronzemesh (300x200 cm) is the latest artwork commissioned by Tibbatts Abel who also commissioned David's 'TRANSPOSE' 2012, a giant floating bronzemesh seated Buddha for Buddha-Bar Knightsbridge, London.
This dynamic ceiling feature is simultaneously a celebration of natural organic forms and of the fabulous bronzemesh medium itself. The result is a floating nexus of cloud-like shapes and floral elements where a nebulous fusion of water vapour and plant form is created and presented as a floating focal point.
David has a long history of commissioned artworks and solo exhibitions in the city of Birmingham dating back to 1999 with a collection of angel sculptures for Tibbatts Associates' The Jam House and a series of exhibitions with the former Gallery Number Nine.
